A few weeks have gone by as I've been going to practices and games, home and away. Still nothing new on Annabelle, she is hasn't woke up from her coma yet. I've been up there almost every single day to see how she is.
I walk out of my house as my driveway has a extra snow on it as I make tracks in the snow as I walk down to street to James's house.
Cutting through the grass, I walk up to his front door as I knock on it.
"Hey Paul, come in," James says as I kick the snow off my feet as I walk into his house.
"When are you going to put more things in this house?" I ask as I walk into his house then into his kitchen where he was.
"Shut up Paul,"
We both laugh.
"So ready for practice?"
"Yea, so when you getting a new car?" James asks.
"Haven't had time too, its practices, games then to the hospital,"
"True, you going to see her after practice?"
"Yeah, so let's get a move on,"
"You like her,"
"Who?"
"The girl who is in the coma in the hospital,"
"James I'm just worried about her. How would I even know what shes like?"
"Let's go to practice,"
I turn around as I follow him into the garage then got into his car.
He backs out and takes off to Pittsburgh.
Every time coming into Pittsburgh brings back the memories. The memories of the crash and what happened to her.
Looking over, I see the spot as James passes into Fort Pitt.
"Is bad huh?" James asks.
"When is it not?" I say.
James finishes driving to the Consol Energy Center as he parks in the parking lot of the center.
"Thanks, we are late again for practice," I say as I open the door to get out of the car.
"It's your fault," James exclaims.
"That's bully dude," I say as I head for the elevator to take it down to the first floor as James hops in before the doors close.
"Bet Sid is never this late,"
I just laugh at the comment.
"Nah, he's probably first here and the last the leave now like us. We arrive late and leave early,"
We both laugh as the doors open as we head into the arena then into the locker room area.
"About time you two got here, we waited for you," Coach Dan says.
"Sorry, Paulie was the one running late,"
I punch James as we head over to our stalls.
"Let's go, be out there in 5 minutes," Dan says as the guys got up and head out.
I change from my jeans and shirt into my hockey gear and practice uniform.
"I can't believe you Neal. Blaming it on me," I say as I stand up with my skates on as me and James head out for the rink.
"Don't blame me," James says.
He hops onto the ice as I hop on after him to meet over to the team.
"Hey Paul how is Annabelle?" Joey asks as I skate beside him.
"Still not good," I say.
"You been there everyday haven't you?"
"Yep,"
"Quit taking boys, let's run drills,"
I finish up practice as I head back into the locker room, shower and get back into my street clothes.
"So you gonna call when you need a ride home?" James asks as I look at him.
"You staying in Pittsburgh?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm gonna hang out with Geno around the city,"
"Alright, I'll call you,"
I walk out of the locker room, walking down the hall then walking out of the building for the garage enternce.
"Have a good afternoon Paul," The gate man says as he lets me out.
"Thanks you too," I say.
I walk the whole 6 minutes down to the hosptial as i walk into the main enterence of the hosptial. They have placed her in the main part of the hosptial but she is watched all the time.
I walk over to the desk.
"Good afternoon Mr. Martin. Here is your visitors badge. Mr. and Mrs. Watson is already in her room," She says.
"Thank you Heather," I say as I walk over to the elevator as the doors open and I walk in.
Hitting 3 the doors close then open as I walk out and head right for her room
Room 76
I knock on the door.
"Come in," Sara says as I open the door and walk into the room.
"Good afternoon Paul," Billy says.
"Good afternoon, any change?" I ask.
"Nope, she is still in a coma,"
I walk over to her bed and take a seat in the chair besides her bed.
She looks so peaceful, she has her oxygen in her nose and brusies on her face.
I place my hand on her face as I take it off.
"Paul how was practice?" Billy asks as I lift up my head looking over to him.
"It was good, me and my friend was late but other then that, it was a normal practice," I say.
"Your next game is tonight correct?"
"Yes against the Capitals,"
"They are your rivals right?"
"Yes sir them and the Flyers,"
"Ok got it,"
I just look back over to her as i just stare at her.
A few hours pass as I haven't moved from my chair.
I have my hand by Annabelle's hand as I am watching the highlights from our last game.
"So how is 71?" billy asks.
"That's Geno, his name is Evgeni Malkin," I say.
"He's a damn good player besides that Crosby guy,"
I laugh at that comment.
"Sid is pretty popular around here and in the NHL,"
"It takes focus off the real players like you,"
"Yeah but I don't mind it. Being here for awhile will do that,"
I then feel something on my hand as I turn and see the prettiest brown eyes looking back at me.
"You saved me," She says.
"Yes I did," I say as tears coming from my eyes as I wipe them away.
She is alive and awake.
"My baby is awake," Sara says as she moves to the other side of the bed, giving Annabella a hug.
"Who are you? And you?" Annabelle asks as Sara backs up and looks at Billy.
"We are your parents," Billy says as she looks at them then me.
"I don't know you, I only sorta know him," she says as she points to me.
Sara I could tell is becoming upset, that I didn't know what to do next.
